  • Two things to understand, 1) Different time in history 2) The lifestyles of people in those times definitely don't reflect how people behave today. With that said, it's understood how the authors life is pinnacle to grasping all of the activities laid out in this book. Personally growing up in the 90s in Central Valley CA, we actually did very similar activities that would land us in jail today. That being said, I believe with all my heart that this is a fantastic journey through this man's life of whom I would say we are kindred spirits. I laughed, I stood in awe and I reflected on my life during the book and can honestly say that it's as American as it gets. Tough gritty and just gnarly
